2023 The Open Championship will take place from July 20–23, 2023, at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Wirral. It is the fourth major and oldest men’s professional golf event, established in 1860. The Open is considered the most high-status event, and every year it draws the world’s top golfers to showcase their remarkable golfing skills in a captivating display of talent. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A) oversees The Open, which is held annually at a different R&A venue in a different part of the UK. Usually, it happens in July before the third Friday of the year.
The Royal Liverpool Golf Club will once again host The Open, marking its 151st edition. This remarkable venue has welcomed the prestigious tournament for the 13th time, with its last occurrence taking place in 2014 when Rory McIlroy emerged as the victorious player. Australian Cameron Smith, who won his first major championship in 2022 by one stroke over his nearest competitor, Cameron Young, will be the defending champion in 2023.
