From 9-12 January 2025
A professional golf competition, the Sony Open has been held in Hawaii since 1965 and is a part of the PGA Tour. It was first known as the Hawaiian Open, and the Waialae Country Club in eastern Honolulu has always served as the venue. The 2025 Sony Open in Hawaii will commence from January 9–12, 2025. Don’t miss watching the Sony Open golf live stream in high definition on your smart devices globally.
The "open" status of the tournament allows up to three emerging market golfers to compete for each year, which is a great opportunity to see some new talent and more established names on the PGA Tour.
At the age of just 16 years and 4 days, amateur Tadd Fujikawa made the 36-hole cut in a legitimate PGA Tour tournament in 2007, becoming the youngest player to do it in 50 years.
Hideki Matsuyama, who triumphed in a dramatic way in the 2022 competition, is the current champion. The Masters champion trailed Russell Henley by five strokes going into the final nine holes, but he battled back to force a playoff and then produced an incredible eagle to win the nail-biting match.
The event, which is held at Waialeale Country Club on the island of Oahu in January, draws 144 of the best golfers in the world. The Sony Open is Hawaii's biggest charity golf tournament.
Since its inception in 1999, when it raised a total of $256,000 for 43 charities, the event has grown to $1.2 million in charity income per year, helping over 100 groups and raising a total of $23 million for more than 350 local organizations.
