American Express 2025 Golf Live Online: PGA Tour

From 16-19 January 2025

The 2025 PGA Tour professional golf event, The American Express (formerly known as the Desert Classic), will take place from January 16–19, 2025. Since its inception in 1960, it has always been held in Riverside County, California, and is now contested on three world-class courses, including the PGA West's Stadium Course, the Nicklaus Tournament Course, and La Quinta Country Club.

The Desert Classic was popular for its celebrity Pro-Am round previously. The tournament has featured the world’s best golfers throughout the years, such as Kirk Douglas, Samuel L. Jackson, Frank Sinatra, President Dwight Eisenhower, and many more. Even though there will no longer be any celebrity Pro-am, the American Express Championship remains a significant and enjoyable PGA Tour stop.

In 2022, Hudson Swafford won the competition a second time after finishing two strokes ahead of Tom Hoge.

The American Express Golf format 2025

The American Express Championship 2023 is a four-day PGA Tour event with a qualifying field cut. For the first three days, each pro will be paired with an amateur. Each player gets one round on the host course during his first three days.

A cut will then be made at the top 65 to determine who advances to the finals, which will take place at PGA West's Dye Stadium Course. The player with the lowest score at the end of a 72-hole event wins.
